The South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) is a five-year, flagship regional energy program of USAID/India. SAREP will improve access to affordable, secure, reliable, and sustainable energy in six countries – Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The program will enable collaboration among these six countries to support the clean-energy transition, as per their climate and energy security priorities. SAREP’s activities and outcomes support and contribute to the Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (SCEP) and the Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD) under the U.S.-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership. SAREP is working closely with CII-Godrej GBC to implement the VRP and scale the program in India and other countries in South Asia – Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.

Partnership to Advance Clean Energy (PACE) was a partnership between the U.S. and India to jointly work on a range of issues related to energy security, clean energy, and climate change. PACE sought to accelerate inclusive, low-carbon growth by supporting research and deployment of clean energy technologies and policies. PACE combined the efforts of several government and non-government stakeholders on both the U.S. and Indian sides and included three key components: Research (PACE-R), Deployment (PACE-D), and Off-Grid Energy Access (PEACE).

PACE-D was a technical assistance (TA) program which was led by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of State and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Power (MOP) and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

Rooftop Solar Vendor Rating Program (VRP) has been jointly developed by CII-Godrej GBC and USAID for improving the quality and safety of rooftop solar installations in India, under USAID’s PACE-D program.
